Hello fellow residents;
It’s already been a year since
being elected to be the mayor of our City. It has been
a good year for both the City and myself. In the past
year we have worked out agreements with the Church and
the Knights for mutual aid in the event of a disaster
and are finalizing the City’s Emergency Management
Plan. The City continues to move forward with alternative
sewer plans and hopefully we will have information for
the residents in the short term future. Thanks to John
Schulte for overseeing the planning. On a personal note,
my wife and I will be first time grandparents in just
a few short weeks and are excited not only for ourselves
but for Brandon and Meghan as well.
Congratulations to Dirk Bremer, Jeff Wilmsmeier and
Larry Hoff for their election to the Board of Aldermen
for the next two years. I look forward to working with
them in the future.
Also, a heartfelt Thank You to Lori Wortmann who stepped
down from the Board of Aldermen. Thanks Lori for your
ten years of service to the City. I am glad you decided
to stay on the Parks Advisory Board.
HR Green is now the City Engineer. John Choinka who
many of you have worked with in the past will again
be the lead engineer for the City. John can be reached

Look for construction to begin on Hwy. 79 in May of
2012 from Hackmann Rd north to Dyer Rd. MODOT will be
installing left turn lanes at Hwy. P, Hackmann Rd.,
Vomund Rd., and Dyer Rd. along with intersection lighting.
The entire project which includes resurfacing is to
be completed by the end of November, 2012.
